Outpatient Dietitian

Sodexo is seeking a Part-Time Outpatient Dietitian (24 hours/week) for UH Samaritan Medical Center, a 55-bed acute care facility in Ashland OH.  The Dietitian will provide general outpatient counseling to a variety of patient populations and disease states, including but not limited to weight management, diabetes, heart disease, oncology, and gastrointestinal disorders.  Ashland, OH is located 65 miles southwest of Cleveland. 

Days of the week worked can be flexible depending on your schedule!

The successful candidate will:

• provide individualized one-on-one Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) to clients of all ages through evidence-based nutrition care;
• collaborate with the interdisciplinary team regarding the patients’ overall nutritional careplan;
• assist with growth and development of the outpatient program by promotion and marketing;
• stay up-to-date with evidenced based practice regarding the management of acute and chronic conditions;
• provide inpatient nutritional care for a variety of inpatient units as needed;
• perform quality improvement initiatives; and
• act as a mentor to dietetic interns.

• Registered Dietitian credentials and be licensed in OH;
• experience as an RD (outpatient counseling preferred but not required); 
• excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels;

• strong time management skills, be a self-starter and a team player; and
• a commitment to continued education in the nutrition field and implementation of new and innovative ideas.

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) (Note: For those seeking registration after 2023, a master’s degree will be required)

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years experienced practitioner able to work with minimal supervision

Credentials Requirement:

• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
• Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice
• Specialty credential in area(s) of focused practice, as applicable, or advanced practice certification (RD-AP/RDN-AP)
