Sodexo is seeking a Culinary leader as Executive Chef 1 at a new potential K-12 schools account for Teton County School District, in Jackson, WY. Teton County School District is a district of 10 schools and 2,800 students, and aims to continually promote student well-being and academic achievement by supporting quality nutrition and physical activity as part of the learning environment.  

Are You the One?  The successful candidate will:

  • be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis and food production forecasting;
  • ensure Sodexo Culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented;
  • have the ability and willingness to develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations;
  • Interaction w/staff - training, recipes, presentation, further develop culinary skills;
  • remotely working with other regional chefs - improving recipes - locally;
  • work with DIetitians to meet USDA compliance, and with other regional chefs to move menus to fresh/local/sustainable offerings;
  • set up Focus groups at all grade levels - get student feedback on what they like to see, and educating them on the importance of nutrition; 
  • host Kids can cook -   action stations;
  • ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance; and/or
  • have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems.

While the budgeted range for the position is posted, Sodexo salary offers are based on a candidate's specific criteria, like experience, skills, education and training.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
