Chef Manager

Sodexo School Food Services has an opportunity for an experienced Chef Manager to support East Aurora Public Schools, K-12 School district located in the Aurora, Il.  This account is innovative, progressive with strong Student Well Being initiatives. The Chef Manager will report directly to our General Manager and manage approximately 30-40 hourly employees. We are looking for candidates with a background in large volume food production, strong financial acumen, and strong knowledge of back-of-house operations. 

The best qualified candidate will have strong communication skills, be highly organized; detail oriented and have the ability to delegate effectively.  Responsible for overseeing multiple schools within the district, staff training and development, catering functions.  

Seeking candidates with previous experience with National School Lunch/Breakfast programs, along with knowledge of current USDA regulations a plus.  If you have strong financial and analytical skills, quality food operational skills, and proven interpersonal skills, this may be the opportunity for you. This is a great position for someone looking for a better work-life balance while having the opportunity to grow their career within Sodexo!

The successful candidate will:

• be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis and food production forecasting.
• ensure Sodexo Culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented.
• have the ability and willingness to develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations and excellence,
• ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance and procedures; and/or
• have working knowledge of food inventory systems, ordering, production, and management systems.
