Outpatient Dietitian

Sodexo is seeking an experienced Registered Dietitian for a full-time outpatient position with the Mohawk Valley Health System in Utica, NY.  This RD will manage the “Eat Right, Live Right” counseling program at the Faxton Campus, providing nutrition care to children and adults, while also providing support to our oncology outpatient program two days per week.

Reporting to the Clinical Nutrition Manager, the successful candidate will:

• provide one-on-one nutritional counseling to adult and pediatric patients;
• collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members/departments to provide medical nutrition therapy;
• participate in quality improvement projects within the department;
• perform quality improvement initiatives related to patient care & be outcome focused; and
• act as a mentor to interns and new dietitians.

• Registered Dietitian credentials and CDN in NY;
• experience providing outpatient medical nutrition therapy;
• excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with clients and interdisciplinary team members at all levels;

• a commitment to continued education in the nutrition field and implementation of new and innovative ideas.

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) (Note: For those seeking registration after 2023, a master’s degree will be required)

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years experienced practitioner able to work with minimal supervision

Credentials Requirement:

• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
• Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice
• Specialty credential in area(s) of focused practice, as applicable, or advanced practice certification (RD-AP/RDN-AP)
