Sodexo is seeking a Executive Chef 2 for UNC Johnston Smithfield Hospital located in Smithfield, NC.  UNC Johnston Smithfield Hospital is a licensed 200 bed modern hospital.  Centrally located right outside of the Raleigh-Durham area! A great opportunity to live in North Carolina's capital, known for its booming food scene and family friendly environment.

 

The Executive Chef will report directly to the General Manager and support a team of 40 hourly associates.  This position will be responsible for back of the house operations in retail, patient services and catering operations

 

*Typical Schedule Monday-Friday with a weekend rotation*

The ideal candidate:

  • has a work history demonstrating strong leadership skills, as well as previous supervisory experience and the ability to work collaboratively;
  • has culinary production experience and a strong background in safety and sanitation compliance;
  • has the ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service;
  • can demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed; and
  • can demonstrate working knowledge of Sodexo Food Management Systems (FMS) and Market Connections (MSC), and is proficient in computer skills and report management experience.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
