Sodexo is seeking an experienced Chef Manager/Production for the Grand Commons Dining Hall at the  University of Denver in Denver, Colorado.  DU is a Showcase account and a Center of Excellence for our Campus Dining Segment. Our successful candidate will manage high volume food production through ensuring safety, quality and high volume meal production to ensure  food quality, consistency and overall safety.  The Chef Manager will  be responsible for inventory management and procurement of food and supplies, and manage food production through the Commisary Kitchen staff in a large facility.  The Chef Manager oversight will contribute to account revenue through cost containment and safety.

Are You the One we are looking for?  The successful candidate will:

  • Be responsible for inventory management and procurement of food and supplies, and manage food production through the commisary kitchen staff in our high volume and fast paced Student Dining environment;
  • Utilize Sodexo resources, recipes, systems, and programs to direct daily operations including; food production, inventory, product deliveries, invoices, and procurement operations;
  • Ensure employees have appropriate equipment, supplies, and resources to perform their jobs and meet goals, cost controls, and deadlines as assigned;
  • Establish and maintain a safe work environment including both food and physical safety to comply with all regulatory and Sodexo standards; and
  • Read menus, taste food as it is being prepared, estimate food requirements,  check production, and keep records in order to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment.

Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who have/are: 

  • 3-5 year work history in a high volume dining operation, strong employee engagement leadership skills;
  • Culinary production experience and a strong background in safety and sanitation compliance; 
  • Proven track record of managing multiple priorities, professional communication skills, and demonstrated history of bringing passion for a high level of customer service; and
  • A desire to learn and grow – while developing your team in their culinary skills.
  • Position requires a valid/current Driver's License.
