Unit Description

Are you a Registered Dietitian ready to impact the lives of patients? 

Sodexo is seeking a fulltime Outpatient Oncology Dietitian for the Lehigh Valley Cancer Institute in Pennsylvania. This Registered Dietitian will provide integrative nutritional counseling with patients undergoing radiation and/or chemotherapy at the LVHN cancer clinics in Hazelton 3 days/week, in Pottsville 1 day/ week and will provide remote coverage for the Muhlenberg Cancer Center 1 day/week.   

This is a great role for an experienced dietitian or a new grad who had some oncology experience in their internship!

The successful candidate will:

  • provide individualized 1:1 Medical Nutrition Therapy to oncology patients clients;
  • collaborate with the interdisciplinary team regarding the patients’ overall nutritional careplan;
  • develop and present content for the Support Survivor program;
  • work closely with an interdisciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care;
  • perform quality improvement initiatives; and
  • act as a mentor to dietetic interns.

  • Registered Dietitian credentials and Pennsylvania state licensure;
  • experience in oncology nutrition or a strong desire to working with this population;
  • strong verbal and written communication skills; and

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement:

Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) 

For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24:

Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) 

 

Credentials Requirement:

Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire.  In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hire
Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice. In some states and/or facilities state certification/licensure is required at the time of hire

 

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years experienced practitioner able to work with minimal supervision
