Sodexo has an exciting career opportunity for an Executive Chef 2 at our longstanding university dining account at Linfield University in McMinnville, OR – less than an hour from Portland.  Sodexo Dining at Linfield  brings innovation to serve 1100 students through our Campus dining including Resident Dining Hall, Food Retail Concepts.  This Executive Chef will also be primary culinarian for high level Catering!  Linfield College is a private undergraduate Institute in a beautiful setting outside Portland, hosting an excellent sports program and home of International Pinot Noir Festival.

Are you the experienced culinary leader we’re seeking?

 

The Executive Chef will manage a large kitchen, manage food ordering/inventory using our Food Management Systems, We deliver the WOW Factor with presentation in the front of the house and late-night options for our guests! The successful candidate will be a Hands On Leader, have excellent customer service skills, and be computer savvy to manage our DRIVE Food Management Software, food ordering and accurate cash management.

 

Is this opportunity right for you? The ideal candidate has:

  • 3 - 4 years strong culinary background in high volume dining, with the demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends
  • Excellent Hands On Leadership - mentoring and training the employees, personable and approachable
  • Communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of standards and implements company policies
  • knowledge and efficiency in using Food Management Systems for ordering/inventory, etc.
  • Strong management skills

Are You the One?  We are looking for candidates who will:

  • Manage the daily food production including production planning and control
  • Ensure Sodexo Culinary Standards including recipe compliance and food quality
  • Manage food costing, controls and compliance
  • Develop menus and manage inventory
  • Have high expectations for customer service and quality of food
  • Have the ability and willingness to develop and train frontline employees
  • Have a passion for food and innovation
  • Have knowledge of special diets and allergens
  • Knowledge of online/app based Food Management System

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
