Sodexo currently has an opportunity for a Clinical Nutrition Manager to join our team at Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital in Los Angeles, CA. A state-of-the-art hospital that serves the community by providing inpatient primary care, basic emergency services, and health education and outreach services.

 

In this role you will be responsible for managing the Clinical Nutrition program at Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital.

Reporting to the General Manager the ideal Candidate will:

  • Be a registered dietitian with at least 3 years lead or management experience;
  • serve in a leadership role as part of the Food and Nutrition Services management team;
  • have prior experience with a successful room service program;
  • be responsible for managing and developing a team of Dietitians and foster successful patient care programs;
  • maintain a visible role with client interaction, representing the department on hospital-wide medical staff committees;
  • Have a track record of proactive interaction with the medical team.

Licensed for a 131 beds providing general acute care. It features a 21-bed emergency department, a critical care unit, and labor and delivery services, radiology and imaging as well as additional hospital-based services that are most-needed in the community.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement:

Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) 

For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24:

Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) 

 

Credentials Requirement:

Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire.  In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hire
Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice. In some states and/or facilities state certification/licensure is required at the time of hire

 

Basic Management Experience: 6 years experience of planning, managing and organizing resources within short/medium timeframes within the overall policy framework 
Basic Functional Experience: 5 years as experienced specialized practitioner  able to work unsupervised and provide professional supervision to specialists.
