Sodexo has an outstanding opportunity for a Clinical Nutrition Manager,Registered Dietitian with at least 3 years of experience (at least 3 years lead or management experience) to come join their dynamic team and manage the Clinical Nutrition program at The Queen’s Medical Center Hospital at Punchbowl, West O’ahu and the North Hawaii Community Hospital.

In this role the Clinical Nutrition Manager will be responsible for serving in a leadership role on the Food and Nutrition Services team along with the Sodexo management team;  managing and developing a team to foster successful patient care programs, supervise a team of 10 plus -a CNM for outpatient. Sodexo Registered Dietitians in a non-union environment  for the three separate hospital facilities; provide support for CNSC RDs and Supply Chain to maintain formulary for oral supplements /TF formulas and oversee the Comprehensive Malnutrition Platform;

 

You will work onsite and remote when necessary.  Assist with Weekend and Holiday RD rotations.  Will perform regular check ins with Nurse Managers. Will participate in Food and Nutrition Management meetings and may assist the Outpatient CNM if there is a staffing shortage.  Focus on team building and RD growth and development.

 

Reporting to the General Manager, the ideal candidate will:

  • Be a Registered Dietitian, master’s degree in nutrition or related field and /or a specialty certification is preferred to Manage the nutrition care services for this high profile, acute care facility. In this role the selected candidate will also serve in a leadership role on the Food and Nutrition Services team along with the Sodexo management team;
  • have prior experience with room service experience and/ or Sodexo’s Premier Room Service Program “At Your Request”, will on-board and train new dietitians and Interns, provide direction and training to the call center operators, food service staff on diets/nutrition programs and maintain Health Touch menu system;
  • have demonstrated skills to manage and develop a clinical staff that utilizes Epic EHR system; monitoring and evaluation of nutrition care services; accreditation and regulatory readiness and review; and establishing and maintaining standards of care;
  • Focus on team building and RD growth and development.

  • maintain a highly visible role with client interaction, representing the department on hospital-wide medical staff committees including patient satisfaction, interdisciplinary teams for special projects including  patient safety, best practice care, menu committee and speaking/community events.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement:

Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) 

For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24:

Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) 

 

Credentials Requirement:

Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire.  In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hire
Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice. In some states and/or facilities state certification/licensure is required at the time of hire

 

Basic Management Experience: 6 years experience of planning, managing and organizing resources within short/medium timeframes within the overall policy framework 
Basic Functional Experience: 5 years as experienced specialized practitioner  able to work unsupervised and provide professional supervision to specialists.
