Role Overview

Sodexo has an immediate opening for a Food Service Manager for Kent Hospitallocated in Warwick, RI.  In this role you will report to the Sr. Area General Manager, train and manage a team of approximately 40 union employees. 

 

What You'll Do

This role will direct and participate in all of the daily patient food operations, have direct interaction with patients and nursing staff while ensuring food safety and sanitation compliance. Must be able to work an evening shift between the hours of 11:30am-8:30pm, overseeing the evening tray line, closing down cafeteria, sanitation, closing and locking up the department.

What You Bring

  • At least 2 years college-associate's degree or higher
  • At least 2 years management experience in food service
  • Union experience a plus
  • A passion for a high level of customer service
  • A work history demonstrating strong leadership skills as well the ability to work collaboratively
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills
  • SERV Safe certification and be well-versed in regulatory and sanitation practices
  • The ability to regularly analyze patient satisfaction data and implement additional measurements and action plans in these areas to achieve optimal unit performance.
  • Oversight of the Patient Services area, patient food service production, and diet office
  • The ability to ensure excellence in service quality and delivery schedules
  • The ability to act as the liaison between the dietitians, nursing managers and the units. This role will participate in patient safety, patient experience initiatives.
  • The ability to work with the diet office to review and address any patient menu/meal concerns, daily patient meal rounding

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
