Sodexo is seeking a Director, Pre-Construction Services to support the University Hospitals Healthcare System located in Cleveland, OH and the greater northeast Ohio region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interface with clients to determine programmatic needs and represent company in a positive way during interfacing
  • Prepares project delivery strategy to maximize value for the client
  • Qualify prospective contractors and suppliers
  • Bid solicitation with the local contractors, suppliers, and trade groups.
  • Plan, lead, and coordinate pre-bid and bid meetings
  • Produce accurate and thorough total project cost estimates, inclusive of coordinating scope and cost estimates with the client for owner-furnished equipment and services.
  • Review all project documents for compliance with budget, company/client standards and constructability
  • Create initial working schedule for projects
  • Complete bid evaluations and award recommendations
  • Conduct post-bid and scope review meetings
  • Contribute to the development of standards, process, practices, etc. as needed to achieve best practices
  • Generate Quarterly Market Conditions reports informing the client of movement and trends within the construction industry.
  • Work on multiple projects at same time
  • Maintain and develop new contractor and vendor resources

 

Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related area
  • Possess 5+ years of commercial and/or healthcare construction experience
  • Have previous experience as PM, Project Engineer, or in Preconstruction for a commercial construction company
  • Are experienced in utilizing a variety of contract delivery systems
  • Are self-motivated, organized, and detail oriented
  • Have the ability to communicate well with client, market resources, and project teams

What You'll Do

  • You will be professionally responsible for Facilities Management regarding the proper installation, operation and maintenance of uninterrupted light, heat, power, water and monitoring systems for all health system buildings and services.
  • You will have budget, staffing, short- and long-range planning
  • Program development responsibilities for the Facilities department in addition to construction/renovation operations, facility planning, maintenance, repair programs and energy management.

What You Bring

  • plant operations and maintenance management experience in a healthcare environment;
  • experience with the Join Commission, Environment of Care (EOC), OSHA and Life Safety requirements;
  • strong technical knowledge of the following: mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, structural, fire protection, safety systems, civil, low voltage, demolition, architectural and energy management;
  • business and financial acumen with a strong P&L understanding;
  • excellent customer service and communication skills;
  • staff development and team building experience;
  • Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM) is a plus; and
  • a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related fields preferred.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 5 years
Minimum Functional Experience - 5 years in Auto Cad related to Food Service Design
