Sodexo Seniors is seeking a General Manager 5 - Food to lead our team at our Showcase Account, Waterman Village Retirement Community in Mount Dora, Florida, nearby Orlando.   This upscale Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) embodies the true spirit of community where Residents enjoy the security of a worry-free lifestyle.  The campus provides active Seniors a variety of programs and amenities, as well as a full continuum of on-site healthcare services.   Mount Dora is a quaint, picturesque town which has been voted the #1 Small Town in Florida and often referred to as the New England of the South.

 

As the General Manager, you will manage 5 Star Dining Programs at multiple dining venues with the highest quality systems and standards, impeccable food & kitchen safety and sanitation.  You will also interact daily with residents and clients to provide amazing customer service and program enhancements. This senior level position requires exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to develop teams that deliver extraordinary dining services that exceed resident & client expectations. 

 

This opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who have:

  • five or more years prior management experience in culinary production and dining services, preferably in a senior living or country club setting; a background overseeing multiple dining venues and catered events is an added plus; 
  • solid financial acumen, with knowledge of operating budgets, food ordering, inventory, employee scheduling, menu development and point-of-sale systems;
  • continuously update industry knowledge on current food trends and ingredients, making sure they lead the way in innovation and originality;
  • ensure that the highest possible standards of food handling and preparation are achieved;
  • experience as a strategic problem solver who address challenges as they arise, and empowers managers and staff to work cohesively and efficiently;
  • leadership skills that drive the development and success of employees; ability to motivate staff to achieve a high-level of customer service and attention to detail; 
  • strong background in safety and sanitation compliance; 
  • ability to work collaboratively with other community leaders; develop and maintain positive client and resident relationships.
  • Culinary degree is desired and a C.E.C. (Certified Executive Chef) is a plus.
