Sodexo is seeking a Wellness Director for Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware.  The ideal candidate will be the face of the Wellness program and have oversight at the garden center at the hospital.  The ideal candidate will have an integral role of collaborating with the hospital leadership to create a vision for the hospital garden wellness program.  In addition, this position will lead wellness initiatives around campus.  Candidate must be very comfortable facilitating meetings, collaborating with higher level executives and executing programs.

What You'll Do

Position Summary:

Provides direction, development, and business strategy, and deployment of leading-edge nutrition and wellness programs including management and oversight of a garden producing fruits and vegetables on client’s hospital campus in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).  Is responsible for deployment of national Nutrition and Wellness Brand Standards within area of accountability.

 

 

Garden Management Responsibilities: 50% (in person)

 

  • Create a crop plan to meet the goals and objectives of the garden
  • Daily monitoring during growing season (irrigation, weed and pest management) and seasonal needs (opening and closing the garden)
  • Vegetable, herb and flower planting/cultivation, harvesting and distributing
  • Manage the garden budget and measure/report outcomes
  • Manage volunteers – individuals and teams
  • Meet regularly with iLEAD garden founders for ongoing collaboration on education goals

Key Duties:

  • Support Operating teams through bringing awareness of and monitoring of compliance with Regulatory Agency requirements related to Nutrition Services aspects of the Food Service Operations and onsite garden management.
  • Provides information, monitors, and educates operations teams of current Sodexo and industry Wellness program information and practices to support implementation and effective programs in the operations.
  • Keeps abreast of current and new innovation industry trends.
  • Collaborates with client leadership teams related to account development regarding the Sodexo Wellness program for patient/residents, retail operations, and integration into the client overall population wellness strategy.
  • In collaboration with hospital leadership develops the mission and vision of the hospital campus garden

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor's degree in dietetics, food management, or related field

Minimum Management Experience - 1 year

Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years of experience in clinical management in outpatient services
