Sodexo seeks a Dietitian Nutritionist to provide nutrition care at Cape Fear Valley Hoke Hospital. This position will have inpatient (20%) and outpatient (50%) responsibilities at Hoke Hospital, an innovative full-service hospital that opened in 2015. This hospital is located approximately 24 miles from Fayetteville and serves residents of Hoke County, southwestern Cumberland County, and surrounding areas. It is the only hospital in Hoke County Joint Commission certified as a stroke-ready and chest pain center. Hoke Hospital's Service Areas and Facilities include 41 inpatient beds, a 16-bed Emergency Department, 9 observation beds, and a 4-bed ICU. In addition, they have two operating rooms that are used for OB/GYN, podiatry, orthopedic, and general surgeries.

The Dietitian will report to the System Clinical Nutrition Manager and will: 

  • Maintain responsibility for comprehensive nutrition assessments/reassessments and counseling of general patients and their families per the Nutrition Care Process model. 
  • Actively participate in daily multidisciplinary rounding with care team members.
  • Provide education to patients, as well as staff, and work well with physicians, pharmacists, nursing, occupational and speech therapists, and other ancillary staff.
  • Provide adult counseling in an outpatient setting.
  • Be involved in quality improvement and research projects as opportunities arise.
  • Serve as a preceptor for dietetic interns, as needed. 
  • Provide coverage for other inpatient dietitians on weekends, holidays, and as assigned.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a Registered Dietitian with 0-3 years of experience
  • Outpatient experience is preferred
  • Have strong leadership skills, time management, and organizational skills
  • Possess the ability to creatively problem solve, work independently with minimal supervision, and make decisions while working within a self-directed and team-oriented work environment
  • Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to interact with a wide variety of individuals and groups
  • Have North Carolina State licensure before start date

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement:
Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) 
For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24:
Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) 
 
Credentials Requirement:
Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire.  In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hire
Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice. In some states and/or facilities state certification/licensure is required at the time of hire
