Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking an Executive Chef 2 for  North Oaks Health System located in Hammond, LA.  In this role you will work day time hours Monday-Friday, but will need the flexibility to work as the manager on duty every 3rd weekend, as well as some evening shifts when business needs require. In this role you will assist with patient meal experience in this 300+ bed hospital as well as cafeteria retail and catering preparation.  You will be supporting the main hospital location, as well as the off-site 30 bed rehab location (on-site there approximately 1x/week or so).

 

North Oaks Health System is one of the area’s largest and most progressive health systems. Strategically based between New Orleans and Baton Rouge, the organization includes a 330-bed acute care hospital, a Level II Trauma Center, a 27-bed medical rehabilitation hospital, a freestanding surgical center, two diagnostic centers and the largest multispecialty provider clinic in the region.

 

What You'll Do

  • implement and standardize all culinary systems and procedures for hospital
  • maintain food and health & safety logs within Sodexo and hospital guidelines and requirements
  • ensure trainings remain up to date for all hourly associates, for both Sodexo and hospital related trainings
  • implement innovative and fresh ideas in retail, catering and patient services
  • cultivate effective interpersonal relationships customers and clients in hospital

What You Bring

  •  a strong culinary background, including menu planning, passionate about staying current with new culinary trends
  • a strong production culinary background, ideally in a healthcare environment or one which included high-volume catering
  • experience leading and engaging a culinary team
  • Servsafe certified as well as working knowledge of HACCP and experience with Health and Safety audits

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
