Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking a Food Service Manager 2 to join our amazing team at Vinson Hall Retirement Community in McLean, VA.  In this role, you will  will oversee dining room operations for the independent living residents, the bistro as well as special catering events. Will report to the General Manager and manage a staff of approximately 15 hourly employees.  Must be able to work a flexible schedule - hours may vary with the ability to rotate every other weekend required. Previous bartending experience an added plus!

What You'll Do

  • oversee the day-to-day dining room operations for the Independent Living residents; 
  • manage and develop a team of associates to include training and daily scheduling;
  • ensure food quality, safety and presentation of the residents meals;
  • collaborate with other departments to enhance the resident dining experience;
  • oversee special events held in various dining venues on campus.

What You Bring

  • two or more years of food service management experience in the restaurant or senior living industry;  prior bartending and/or catering experience a plus; 
  • a passion for food service and a high level of customer service; 
  • strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed; 
  • excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy working with seniors in an active, fast-paced environment; and
  • have working knowledge of HACCP protocols for regulatory compliance.
