Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking a Facilities Engineering Operations Manager to support a high-profile Client Headquarters in New York, NY. As an operations expert, you will be our client's main point of contact for all day-to-day facilities operations, including contracted and self performed hard and soft services, janitorial, mailroom and financial management to ensure top-quality service. Your organizational skills will shine as you handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and support our client in maintaining the highest level of service. What You'll Do

  • Oversee facility operations, ensuring a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment that exceeds client standards.
  • Manage janitorial, mailroom and facilities staff to ensure high cleanliness standards across executive suites and common areas, while efficiently handling incoming and outgoing correspondence and coordinating with third-party vendors for maintenance and repairs to ensure cost-effective, high-quality service.

     
  • Manage facility budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service quality and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations, and develop emergency response plans for facility-related incidents.
  • Coordinate and manage all conferences, including any move, add, and change, set up or special requests.
  • Implement strategic, tactical, and operational reporting to improve customer service, account profitability, client retention, and satisfaction.

What You Bring

  • A Bachelors Degree or 5 years of successful experience in Facilities Management, including hard and soft services, HVAC, electrical, plumbing operations
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with a focus on relationship building and effective communication.
  • Strong technical knowledge of preventative maintenance and skilled trades.
  • Demonstrates effective leadership in managing client, customer, and vendor relations.
  • Focused on staff development and team building, ensuring strong team performance.
  • Proven ability to manage large, complex facilities and deliver high-quality service across multiple areas.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Minimum Management Experience - 5 years   

Minimum Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in facilities maintenance, plant operations or engineering services
