Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking a Food Service Manager  for our prestigious client The Hearthstone in Seattle, WA.  Set in Seattle’s historic and beloved Green Lake neighborhood, The Hearthstone offers a deep connection to nature. Home to the area’s most famous 2.8 mile loop, stunning vistas, nearby retail, the renown Woodland Park Zoo and best-in-class medical care, our community offers so much to current and potential residents. The ideal candidate will be hands-on as needed, have excellent interpersonal skills, enjoy working with seniors, and managing and developing their team.  Best qualified candidate will possess excellent leadership and communication skills.  The manager assists with all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract.  

What You'll Do

Skillsets: 

  • Working knowledge of HACCP protocols for regulatory compliance
  • Food production, catering, and retail management experience
  • Hands on skills with inventory management, on-line ordering
  • Ability to train & develop employees
  • Implements & coordinates the culinary function. 

  • Directs & trains cooks & utility workers.

  • Ensures food preparation & production meets operational standards.

  • Manages catering & retail areas.

  • Customer & Client satisfaction.

  • Financial management to include food cost & labor management.

  • Manages food & physical safety programs.

  • 2-3 years of high level hospitality management experience, preferrably in a seniors or healthcare facility.
  • high drive for resident and client satisfaction.
  • team player, who can coach, lead, and develop themselves and their teams.
  • safety and sanitation expert who knows how to lead in a safe facility.
  • outgoing personality with a true compassion and desire to take care of our residents.
  • strong back office experience with the microsoft office platforms.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
