Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking a General Manager for its operations at Hollenbeck Palms in Los Angeles, CA.  This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned, entrepreneurial manager who is constantly seeking a better way to conduct business.  Hollenbeck Palms is a signature account for Sodexo in our Seniors business, and is a fantastic client and opportunity.  This key leadership position functions as the leader for multiple core services, in a single account and/or multiple locations within the same contract. Single point of contact and/or client liaison in support of business that in total is $5 million or less in managed volume. The General Manager ensures client, customer service/satisfaction with efficient cost-effective management that both meets and exceeds expectations.  You will oversee all day to day food and beverage as well as janitorial/housekeeping functions on the property.  The property has undergone a remodel and the new dining room food and beverage program is terrific!  We are looking for a great hospitality professional to continue our high level F&B operations.

What You'll Do

The successful candidate will:

  • have oversight of day-to-day dining and culinary operations;
  • control and ensure company and client financial targets and goals are achieved;
  • ensure that the highest possible standards of food handling and preparation are achieved;
  • provide technical training and expertise, coaching and leadership to the production team while working side by side in the operation as needed.

What You Bring

Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who:

  • have a passion for a high level customer service and culinary arts, with a strong culinary production background, ideally in a healthcare or retail setting;
  • a background in seniors or healthcare that includes housekeeping and janitorial services.
  • are able to develop trust and build strong client relationships while meeting the expectation of the client as well as Sodexo;
  • have demonstrated experience managing a culinary team and exceptional human resource skillset;
  • are hands-on, and have an innovative leadership approach to management;
  • are able to work independently and make sound business decisions within company guidelines;
  • have the ability to manage multiple priorities;
  • possess strong financial acumen and experience managing a food service operations budget;
  • are experts in compliance to food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience – 5 years
