Sodexo's Campus Segment is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Retail Manager 3 to join our team at the University at Albany. This is a high-volume, fast-paced campus account generating over $12 million in annual retail sales. As part of a collaborative leadership team overseeing approximately 20 employees, this role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and innovate within a dynamic and customer-focused environment.

What You'll Do

The ideal candidate will bring creativity, focus, and high energy to lead and support successful retail operations. Responsibilities include:

  • Motivating, mentoring, and coaching frontline employees to foster a positive, high-performing team.

  • Delivering outstanding customer service to students, staff, and campus visitors.

  • Ensuring compliance with Sodexo’s food and physical safety standards and protocols.

  • Conducting brand standard audits for both in-house and national retail concepts.

  • Maintaining integrity and consistency in retail brand presentation and service.

  • Overseeing daily operations, including opening and closing procedures.

  • Ensuring all signage, merchandising, and marketing materials are current and in place.

  • Managing product ordering, inventory, and visual merchandising standards.

  • Prior experience in retail food service or hospitality management

  • Strong leadership and team-building skills

  • Excellent attention to detail with a creative and solution-oriented mindset

  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities

  • Customer-first attitude with the ability to thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with retail brand standards (national and proprietary concepts)

  • Knowledge of food safety protocols (ServSafe certified is a plus)

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience – 1 year of work experience in concessions, retail sales, or store operations
