Executive Chef 2

Sodexo Senior Living is seeking an Executive Chef 2 for St. Joseph Villa located in Flourtown, Pennsylvania, nearby Philadelphia!  Saint Joseph Villa is a highly regarded, inclusive Catholic community serving the Sisters of Saint Joseph, the general public, the clergy and the members of other religious communities.  The Villa provides skilled nursing, memory care, short-term rehab care and independent living. This position will oversee the culinary operations serving approximately 300 residents daily.  Strong culinary knowledge and knowledge of special diets is needed.  Will report to the General Manager and manage a staff of approximately 20 hourly employees. Typical shifts will vary between opening and closing with every other weekend coverage.

• implement and standardize all culinary systems and procedures including production, puree standardization, FMS sheets, inventory control, HACCP, cleaning schedules, staffing plans, presentation and quality of food, kitchen cleanliness, safety, etc. Sodexo standards will be the benchmark
• be responsible for Food and Physical Safety and annual training for all hourly associates
• Gold Check audits: conduct audits, create action plans based on audit findings. Responsible for keeping and updating GC audit books
• Procurement: Work with vendors on procurement items. Responsible for purchasing manager and purchasing financial audits
• implement innovative and fresh ideas in catering and resident services
• create interpersonal relationships with clients.

• a strong culinary background with prior experience working in a healthcare setting
• excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of standards and implements company policies
• strong management skills with the ability to lead, train and develop a team
• the ability to multitask and proven effectiveness in a high standards driven environment
• a strong understanding of forecasting, food cost management, purchasing, inventory and labor management concepts
• proficient computer skills as well as exceptional organizational and customer services skills
• ServSafe certified with working knowledge of HACCP and experience with Health and Safety audits.

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
