Sodexo's Campus Segment is seeking a Food Operations Manager 3 to join our team at the University at Albany, located in Albany, NY.
Home to over 17,300 students across nine schools and colleges, the University at Albany offers 50 undergraduate majors and 125 graduate programs. Dining operations span 20+ retail units in a modern Campus Center, two full-service residential dining halls, and extensive catering services. Our retail program includes Sodexo brands, national franchises, in-house concepts, and sub-contractors.
This Food Operations Manager 3 will oversee all food operations for the Indigenous Quad, a critical residential area on campus. The role requires open availability, including evenings and weekends, to support a dynamic campus environment.
Identify and exceed customer needs and expectations.
Align Sodexo services with university goals through collaboration and partnership.
Foster a customer-centric culture among staff and management.
Drive catering initiatives, track results, and grow sales.
Maintain service excellence and enhance customer satisfaction.
Ensure full compliance with HAACP and food safety standards.
Respond quickly and effectively to client and customer needs.

National retail brand experience, with preference for candidates certified in Chick-fil-A, Einstein Bros. Bagels, or Subway.
Proven leadership in campus dining or high-volume contract food service.
Exceptional interpersonal skills to engage with students, clients, and staff.
A track record of training, motivating, and managing large teams.
Experience supervising salaried managers and stepping in for the GM as needed.
Creative programming and marketing abilities to elevate the student dining experience.
High-profile catering experience.
Strong financial management and budget control skills.

Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 3 years
Minimum Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
