Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking a Food Operations Manager 2 for Umass Health located in Worcester, MA. In this role you will provide food service leadership to a small team of hourly associates, supporting patient meals (3x/day), and a small cafe setting.  You will work Monday-Friday, however you may also need to provide weekend depending upon operational needs.

What You'll Do

 

  • lead a team of hourly employees by delegating, assigning and prioritizing activities, and monitoring daily operations in the kitchen 
  • work hands-on in the kitchen, taking on all duties as needed including some cooking
  • ensure HACCP, regulatory and standards compliance
  • have daily interaction with patients and customers to ensure high level of satisfaction

What You Bring

  • prior leadership experience in food services within healthcare, hotel, and/or restaurant environments
  • culinary production experience and a strong background in safety and sanitation compliance
  • experience prioritizing tasks and flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
