Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking a Environmental Services / Custodial Operations Manager 1 for Harbor UCLA Medical Center.

 

Harbor–UCLA Medical Center is a 570-bed public teaching hospital located at 1000 West Carson Street in West Carson, an unincorporated area within Los Angeles County, California. The hospital is owned by Los Angeles County and operated by the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, while doctors are faculty of the school of medicine of UCLA.

The facility is one of two adult level I trauma center (providing the highest level of surgical care to trauma patients) operated by Los Angeles County.

 

Schedule will be Monday through Friday and consist of either split weekends or rotating weekends. We are seeking a manager with strong customer service skills, great employee relations, knowledge of scheduling, payroll, patient interviewing, black light, and quality assurance inspections.  Floor care knowledge is a plus!

What You'll Do

  • be responsible for driving client and patient satisfaction scores;
  • provide a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors and staff and works closely with the Infectious Control department;
  • work with the Environment of Care Committee and Infection Prevention Director;
  • effectively manages the Unit Operating System; and/or
  • Manage a diverse and inclusive workforce.

What You Bring

  • experience leading and managing a team and is a leader in service and the technical execution of a healthcare housekeeping system;
  • experience driving customer service and/or guest satisfaction results in a healthcare environment is preferred;
  • strong leadership skills and can work independently to drive program compliance and reach project target dates of completion;
  • ability to analyze data, present and effectively communicate to all levels within the organization related to training, leading hospital committees and change management;
  • experience effectively managing projects within agreed upon timelines;
  • a results and safety driven mindset;
  • in-depth knowledge of housekeeping systems and procedures;
  • experience with vendor and contract management, as well as union and contract negotiations;
  • experience improving patient satisfaction, and driving full compliance to HCAHPS, local, state and Joint Commission standards;
  • have 3-5 years previous custodial / housekeeping or similar management experience in a hospital;
  • strong financial acumen and budget management experience; 
  • can multi-task and set priorities;
  • proficiency with computers and other technology
