Sodexo’s Campus Segment is seeking a Food Service Manager 3 for the University of New Haven in New Haven, CT. In this role, you’ll lead a dedicated dining services team and help shape a vibrant, student-centered culinary experience. Today’s students demand healthier choices, flexible options, and top-tier service—and Sodexo delivers on all fronts. This position offers a Sunday–Thursday schedule with some flexibility based on business needs.
Oversee the daily operations of residential and/or retail dining venues, ensuring quality food production, safety, and service standards.
Manage and develop frontline staff, including union employees, to ensure a positive team culture and consistent performance.
Control food and labor costs through effective scheduling, production planning, and inventory management.
Partner with culinary and administrative teams to support high-profile campus events and ensure smooth coordination.
Drive student satisfaction by responding to feedback, resolving issues, and maintaining strong campus relationships.
Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety programs.

Experience managing high-volume dining operations in a college/university or contract food service setting.
Strong leadership skills with experience training and supervising hourly employees; union experience preferred.
Working knowledge of food production, basic culinary operations, and service execution.
Familiarity with food and labor management systems (e.g., UFS, Kronos, Catertrax).
Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service and build positive client relationships.
A collaborative mindset and the flexibility to adapt in a dynamic campus environment.

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
