Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking a General Manager - Food for its operations at Stoneman Village, an independent living retirement community in Pittsburg, CA.  This key leadership position is directly responsible for the successful operation of The Dining Services. The General Manager ensures client, customer service/satisfaction with efficient cost-effective management that both meets and exceeds expectations.  Ability to work a flexible schedule 10 am - 7 pm required in this role. 

What You'll Do

  • have oversight of day-to-day dining and culinary operations;
  • control and ensure company and client financial targets and goals are achieved;
  • ensure that the highest possible standards of food handling and preparation are achieved;
  • provide technical training and expertise, coaching and leadership to the production team while working side by side in the operation as needed.

What You Bring

  • have demonstrated experience managing a culinary team;
  • able to build strong client relationships while meeting the expectation of the client as well as Sodexo;
  • are able to work independently and make sound business decisions within company guidelines;
  • possess strong financial acumen and experience managing a food service operations budget;
  • are experts in compliance to food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience

Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years
