Sodexo is seeking a Sous Chef at The College of New Jersey for the Traditions Restaurant in Ewing, New Jersey. The Traditions restaurant features an outdoor patio, lounge area with stage, beer and wine bar with mocktails, as well as dine-in and take-out window service. The restaurant is located in the Student Center and is client-focused and a student favorite.

 

What You'll Do

  • be responsible for menu compliance, cooking, food production, food quality/presentation, safety/sanitation;
  • ensure Sodexo culinary standards and food quality are implemented;
  • have the ability and willingness to develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations;
  • ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standards; and/or
  • have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems (Excel Spreadsheets);
  • supervise team members.

What You Bring

  • a supervisory culinary background, with the demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends and supervise with confidence;
  • excellent mentoring/leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of culinary standards;
  • prior culinary experience within a known restaurant group that features an a la cart menu (preferred);
  • strong coaching skills; and/or
  • a passion for food and innovation.
