Role Overview

We are excited to announce the opening of Poppy & Claro a restaurant in downtown San Jose.

 

We are seeking an innovative and experienced Restaurant General Manager to lead the team at Poppy & Claro.

 

Poppy & Claro is a refined yet relaxed all day – restaurant that’s grounded in the spirit of Northern California ingredients. We will open from first light through the golden hour the menu is guided by what’s grown nearby layered with global flavors anchored in live-fire cooking- all set in a warm space rooted in Golden State Modernism.

What You'll Do

  • Overseeing daily operations: Managing staff schedules, inventory, and customer service. Ensuring smooth communication between the front and back of the house.
  • Leading the team: Recruiting, hiring, training, and mentoring staff, fostering a positive work environment, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service: Actively engaging with guests, addressing concerns, and fostering loyalty.
  • Financial management: Managing budgets, controlling costs, and analyzing sales data.
  • Menu Engineering: Collaborating with chefs to create a profitable menu that aligns with the farm-to-table philosophy.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Promoting the restaurant, attracting new customers, and engaging with the local community

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience – 5 years
Minimum Functional Experience – 5 years
