Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking a Shipping Coordinator to support outgoing logistics at our Rahway, NJ location. This role is responsible for coordinating the shipment of chemicals, biologicals, research samples, and equipment—both hazardous and non-hazardous—across domestic and international destinations. The position will manage outbound shipments and includes handling temperature-sensitive materials and preparing all necessary documentation for our client and carrier partners. The ideal candidate will have experience with regulated shipping procedures, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail. Responsibilities include packing, processing, labeling, and ensuring compliance with all relevant shipping standards.

What You'll Do

  • Handle outbound shipments, labeling, sampling, packing, and managing temperature-sensitive materials in line with GMP standards.
  • Support with cycle counts, inventory movement, discard processing, and maintain accurate records in client software systems.

  • Review safety data sheets, classify materials per DOT/IATA regulations, and ensure compliance with global trade and regulatory requirements.

  • Package cold chain shipments, manage GMP freezers, and use temperature monitoring systems to track excursions during transit.

  • Create commercial invoices, troubleshoot system issues, and assist with metrics/KPI tracking and reporting.

  • Provide responsive support to clients, develop strong internal/external relationships, and contribute to issue resolution with professionalism and teamwork.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience, with a strong foundation in warehouse or logistics environments
  • Demonstrated expertise in handling chemicals safely and following strict safety protocols

  • Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-volume settings while managing multiple priorities

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service excellence

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams

  • Strong problem-solving skills; SAP experience is a plus but not required
