Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking a dedicated Human Resources Support Specialist to join our food service team at Springfield City Schools in Springfield, MA. In this role, you’ll provide critical HR support in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment, helping to recruit, onboard, and support a diverse team that serves thousands of nutritious meals to students each day. With a large Spanish-speaking workforce, bilingual skills are a strong plus as you help foster an inclusive and supportive workplace that reflects the community we serve.

What You'll Do

  • Support day-to-day HR operations for Sodexo’s food service team across Springfield City Schools
  • Assist with payroll processing, including exception logs, schedule adjustments, and timekeeping accuracy
  • Manage employment documentation such as I-9s, filing, and employment verifications
  • Help coordinate internal communications and employee engagement efforts
  • Provide frontline support to employees with HR-related questions and needs

What You Bring

  • Prior experience in human resources, preferably in a fast-paced or unionized environment
  • Familiarity with payroll systems and HRIS platforms
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
  • Spanish language skills preferred—ability to understand and communicate with Spanish-speaking employees is a strong asset
  • A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a passion for supporting frontline staff
