Role Overview

We are seeking an innovative and experienced Special Event and Marketing Manager to support the team at Poppy & Claro in San Jose.

Poppy & Claro is a refined yet relaxed all day – restaurant that’s grounded in the spirit of Northern California ingredients. We will open from first light through the golden hour the menu is guided by what’s grown nearby layered with global flavors anchored in live-fire cooking- all set in a warm space rooted in Golden State Modernism.

 

The Manager, Special Events Planner will be a creative, highly organized individual to help execute unforgettable events that generate brand awareness, build business relationships, and boost employee morale. This position will be responsible for conceptualizing ideas for the events, creating and enforcing budgets, liaising with suppliers, communicating with clients, and ultimately ensuring that each event is flawlessly executed. This position will be an expert multitasker with impeccable attention to detail and have an extraordinary ability to foresee risks and anticipate needs so that attendees are impressed and entirely satisfied by the time each event ends.

What You'll Do

  • Identifying requirements and expectations for each event
  • Implementing event concepts and themes
  • Preparing event budgets and processing invoices
  • Plan events in line with the budget drawn-up for the event
  • Organizing suppliers, caterers, staff, and entertainment
  • Managing set-up, tear-down, and clean-up operations
  • Anticipating attendee needs and preparing against potential risks
  • Conduct a pre- and post-event analysis to be able to plan properly and to also be able to improve in different areas
  • Maintain good relationship with various vendors involved in the event, as well as with venue owners
  • Put in place some contingency plans in case of unforeseen scenarios or mishaps during an event
  • Supervise activities going on during events; welcome guests and serve as the “problem-solver” on the day

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
