Sodexo is seeking a skilled and hands-on Executive Chef 2 to lead the culinary operations at University Hospital of Brooklyn–SUNY, a respected academic medical center located in Brooklyn, NY. This role is ideal for a culinary professional who thrives in a mission-driven environment and has a strong background in healthcare food production and kitchen operations.
The Executive Chef will report directly to the Client Executive and oversee a dedicated team of 15 culinary employees, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and service are consistently met.

Lead all culinary operations including patient dining, retail, and catering
Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure excellence in food preparation and presentation
Oversee food production systems, recipe compliance, and inventory control
Maintain high standards for food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance (HACCP, Joint Commission)
Collaborate with nutrition, operations, and client teams to deliver best-in-class service
Drive culinary innovation and continuous improvement in quality and efficiency

Strong culinary background with formal training or relevant certification preferred
Proven experience managing kitchen operations and food production
At least 3-5 years of culinary leadership in a high-volume setting; healthcare experience is a plus
Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop a culinary team
Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
