Sodexo has an opportunity for an experienced human resources professional to join the team as a Human Resources Manager 3 at UTMB located in Galveston, TX. The HR Manager will provide generalist support to about 700 food service and environmental services (EVS) managers, supervisors, and frontline employees across 4 locations. This role will manage talent management, compensation and benefits, training and development, and compliance with a focus on initiatives to drive retention and employee engagement.

What You'll Do

  • Implement and manage Sodexo’s HR policies and procedures in alignment with hospital standards and contractual obligations;
  • Manage the recruitment process including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding;
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, healthcare regulations, and hospital policies;

  • Collaborate with department heads to assess staffing needs and workforce planning;

  • Support employee development initiatives and career progression opportunities;

  • Maintain accurate HR records and generate regular reports on workforce metrics;

  • Facilitate communication between hospital leadership and staff on HR matters;

  • Promote employee wellness, diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives; and/or

  • Handle disciplinary actions and terminations in accordance with legal and hospital standards.

What You Bring

  • have an extensive background in human resources management 
  • understand and respect sensitive and confidential information;
  • have experience managing HR/Administrative support team members;
  • have excellent computer skills with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office programs;
  • detailed oriented, flexible, and have ability to manage competing priorities and meet time demands; and/or
  • have excellent organization, communication, and project management skills.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience

Minimum Management Experience - 2 years          

Minimum Functional Experience – 2 years in HR
