Creating solutions for everything from dining and nutrition to facilities maintenance and rehabilitative services, Sodexo partners with government agencies and military organizations to improve people’s quality of life and make a positive impact.

 

Sodexo is seeking a Food Operations Manager 1 for the Unites States Marine Corps, Mess Hall 5005located in Quantico, VA.  This is a high profile operation that is a component of a very high volume, high prestige, US Military contract.  Position will be part of a management team of 3 to include a GM, an Operations Manager, and a Production Manager with 3 to 4 additional front of house managers. Operation is part of a prestigious military contract that provides service 3 meals per day feeding 500 to 4000 meals daily in a military cafeteria style setting.  Position will manage approximately 20 full time union employees and work with a contract service in managing an additional 20 employees.  Position requires a low level security clearance and food production skills will be helpful   

 

The Operations Manager will direct the day-to-day operations, ensure recipe compliance and food production for the dining facility. Key factors for success include mentoring and developing the team as second nature, and a true spirit of progress. What You Bring

  • has a work history demonstrating strong leadership skills, as well as previous supervisory experience and the ability to work collaboratively;
  • has culinary production experience and a strong background in safety and sanitation compliance;
  • has the ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service;
  • can demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed; and
  • can demonstrate working knowledge of Sodexo Food Management Systems (FMS) and The Market Connection (TMC), and is proficient in computer skills and report management experience.
  • Food Production experience of 3-5 years preferred

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
