Role Overview

Sodexo Senior Living has an exciting opportunity for a Chef Manager for Paul's Run, an upscale continuing care retirement located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We’re seeking a passionate Chef Manager to lead our Independent Living (IL) Bistro team in delivering exceptional dining experiences across breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This is a hands-on role that blends culinary expertise with operational oversight in both Back of House (BOH) and Front of House (FOH). Will report to the Executive Chef and manage a staff of approximately 14 hourly kitchen employees.  Typical shift will be 11:00 am - 7:30pm, may vary with every other weekend coverage.  This is an excellent opportunity to grow your culinary career.

 

What You'll Do

  • oversee the daily food production for bistro and will assist with overseeing production for all levels of care as needed; 
  • will cook daily;
  • oversee ordering and inventory;
  • assist with scheduling of staff;
  • oversee safety and sanitation and maintain HACCP logs; 
  • assist with catering functions; 
  • exceed Sodexo standards for Gold Checks and achieve successful regulatory inspections and audits; and/or
  • perform functions that include direct supervision of hourly associates including employee development.

What You Bring

  • prior 2 years of food service management experience;
  • strong cooking skills;
  • knowledge of therapeutic diets is helpful; 
  • strong knowledge of HACCP, safety and sanitation;
  • passion for our residents and customers to ensure our Sodexo CARES (Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Enthusiasm and Service) behaviors are followed daily;
  • excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of standards and implement company policies.
