Environmental Services / Custodial Manager 1

Sodexo is seeking our Custodial Manager to lead the team at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, IN. Our successful candidate will excel at building a cohesive team, developing individual talent and mentoring our frontline hourly staff into our next generation of salaried manager. Hours are typically 6:00am-3:00pm, M-F with the occasional night or weekend event. 

• Ensure a safe working environment or all employees
• Lead the Early Morning Shift in Custodial Management
• Work 6:00am-3:00pm, primarily Monday-Friday with occasional events
• Provide immediate response to client concerns
• Develop improvement plans for any deficiencies
• Be a critical thinker, adapt to a changing environment
• Order and maintain proper levels of supply and equipment
• Demonstrate willingness to perform at a high level in a team environment
• Perform all trash and recycle removal on and at designated off campus sites
• Provide a clean and safe environment for clients, customers, visitors, and staff
• Manage a team of 20+ employees including timely interviewing and following procedures for hiring
• Ensure customer satisfaction in housekeeping services, waste removal, and campus event management
• Operate custodial equipment including but not limited to wet and dry vacuums, extractors, buffers, sprayers, auto scrubbers and electric carts

• Be a safety champion
• Be a Hands-On leader, manage by example
• Ability to manage Departmental Fiscal Responsibility
• Effectively manage Sodexo’s SMS, CMMS and Operating Systems
• Train employees and provide inspections, evaluate success and challenges
• Build supply and inventory system - track consumables of custodial supplies
• Expertise in managing proper use of all tools including, chemicals, floor care equipment
• Have ability to work independently to drive program compliance for custodial department and motivate a diverse staff and by managing through shift supervisors
