Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking a dedicated and experienced Grounds Manager to lead our landscaping and grounds operations for our valued client partners at the Grandview C-4 School District in Missouri.  Valid Driver's License and experience leading a grounds crew are required. As our Grounds Manager, you will oversee a team of 5–6 grounds professionals, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance of outdoor spaces across the district. Our leader will be able to work M-F 6:00am - 2:30pm with the flexibility to work occasional earlier shifts to support the client needs especially during winter months. Pesticide and Herbicide Application Certification is required (must be obtained within 90 days of hire). Success in this role requires familiarity with local, state, and federal laws for chemical applications and codes. Three years of Grounds team management experience for a 5–6-person crew and project scheduling experience are strongly preferred.   

What You'll Do

  • Have a Valid Driver's License
  • Experience scheduling and monitoring progress on grounds projects
  • Have knowledge of the Grounds and Landscaping Equipment and machines
  • Have or obtain within 90 days, the Missouri Herbicide Application Certification
  • Strategic knowledge and hands on experience with snow and ice management  
  • Work with our team, standing, sitting, lifting and doing typical grounds keeping activities hands on

  • Experience Implementing team training in the areas of horticulture, irrigation, proper pruning, and turf management
  • The ability to work hands-on side by side with the team for typical grounds management including lifting, standing, sitting and working with grounds management equipment for the duration of the typical work shift
