Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking our Director of Facilities Operations to provide leadership at St. Mary's Parish in Annapolis, MD. Our successful candidate will build, and nurture exceptional client-partner relationships, be invested in the culture and campus events and have a presence on campus to show a strong commitment to the facility, staff, and students. This leader will champion the success of our facility, staff, and students, and show unwavering commitment to creating a supportive, high-performing environment that empowers every individual to thrive. This role will design and implement strategies that exceed expectations—proving to our client-partners that we are deeply invested in the long-term success of our students, faculty, and staff. This is a potential sale, and contingent offers will be made.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with clients to unlock operational efficiencies and drive strategic business growth

  • Lead high-impact initiatives in Facilities Engineering to deliver measurable performance improvements

  • Mentor and develop team members while managing business operations and cultivating strong client relationships

  • Champion sustainability through innovative sourcing strategies and resource-reduction programs that minimize environmental impact

  • Build and inspire a diverse, high-performing team to deliver solutions that consistently exceed expectations

  • Inspirational Leadership: Strong leadership capabilities focused on mentoring, staff development, and cultivating high-performing, collaborative teams.

  • Facilities Management Excellence: Proven success in leading complex facilities operations, backed by measurable achievements and operational improvements.

  • Technical Proficiency: Robust knowledge across core systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, structural, safety, architectural, landscaping, and energy management.

  • Certifications & Education: Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) designation preferred; bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field strongly desired.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience – 5 years
Minimum Functional Experience – 5 years
