Sodexo’s Healthcare Technology Management team at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician II with specialized skills in sterile processing equipment, endoscope reprocessing systems, and general medical devices. This position plays a critical role in ensuring safe, compliant, and reliable medical technology to support patient care.

 

 

What You'll Do

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on sterilizers, washers, and endoscope reprocessing systems.

  • Support patient care by servicing and maintaining general biomedical and diagnostic equipment across hospital departments.

  • Collaborate with the Operating Room, Sterile Processing, and Infection Control teams to ensure equipment readiness and compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Document all work in accordance with hospital policies, manufacturer guidelines, and regulatory requirements.

  • Assist in evaluating new equipment, upgrades, and technology integration as needed.

  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond promptly to urgent equipment needs.

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician, with demonstrated skills in sterile processing and endoscope reprocessing systems strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of infection control practices, regulatory standards (Joint Commission, CMS, FDA), and hospital safety requirements.

  • Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital environment.

  • Willingness to attend specialized training to achieve full competency in sterile processing and endoscope reprocessing if not already certified.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Associates Degree (or equivalent experience) in electronic, biomedical engineering or a discipline geared toward managing maintaining and repairing clinical equipment within a healthcare environment

Minimum Functional Experience - 3 years of experience in electronic, mechanical or electro-mechanical repair in a health care technology setting
