Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking a passionate Executive Chef 1 to join our culinary team for potential new business in Silver Spring, Maryland. We're looking for a chef with a proven track record of crafting trend-forward, seasonal, and recipe-driven menus that delight and inspire.  This Chef will report to the Executive Chef 3 and assist in managing a frontline staff of approximately 18 employees. 

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute innovative, nutritious, and appealing menus tailored to resident preferences and dietary needs

  • Ensure rigorous food safety and sanitation standards are consistently met and exceeded

  • Lead, mentor, and engage culinary and utility staff to foster a positive, resident-focused culture

  • Plan and execute special events and chef dinners, providing elevated dining experiences that delight residents and guests

  • Collaborate closely with wellness and care teams to support resident health and satisfaction

  • Manage inventory, budget, and vendor relationships to optimize operational efficiency and quality

What You Bring

  • a passion for culinary arts with a desire for creativity,
  • prior experience with country club, restaurant and / or retirement living dining;
  • experience supervising and training a culinary team with exceptional human resource and supervisory skillset;

  • a positive approach to tasks with a can-do attitude and impeccable attention to detail.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
