Sodexo is seeking a Food Operations Manager 3 to join our team at SUNY University Hospital at Downstate in Brooklyn, NY. This management role will oversee all aspects of Patient Services, with direct responsibility for patient dining operations and tray line sanitation. The Food Operations Manager will provide leadership to 2 managers and a team of 40 frontline employees, ensuring excellence in patient care support, hospitality, and overall patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:
Service Oversight: Lead and manage daily patient support service operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and high-quality service delivery.
Patient Experience: Partner with nursing and clinical teams to enhance the patient and family experience, ensuring compassionate and responsive service.
Support Services Management: Oversee inter-departmental needs including production, sanitation, patient services, and retail operations.
Team Leadership: Directly manage two managers and supervise 40 frontline staff, promoting accountability, collaboration, and engagement.
Coordination: Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and hospital staff, resolving concerns and ensuring service excellence.
Quality Improvement: Collaborate with hospital leadership to implement and monitor quality standards that support patient-centered care.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
3+ years of healthcare food service management experience.
Strong front-of-house operations and patient services expertise.
Proven success in leading large, diverse teams in a hospital or healthcare setting.

Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Minimum Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 3 years
Minimum Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
