Sodexo is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician I to support University Hospitals’ extensive ambulatory network of 100+ clinics. This entry-level position provides hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing medical technologies that support patient care in fast-paced outpatient environments. The BMET I ensures medical equipment is safe, reliable, and regulatory compliant, while gaining exposure to a wide range of clinical devices and systems.

What You'll Do

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on general medical equipment across multiple ambulatory clinics, including IV pumps, exam tables, AEDs, defibrillators, refrigerators, and other diagnostic and treatment devices.

  • Troubleshoot, inspect, repair, and calibrate equipment to ensure safe and effective use.

  • Collaborate with clinical staff across the ambulatory network to identify equipment issues and provide timely solutions.

  • Document all service activities accurately, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and Sodexo/University Hospitals standards.

  • Support readiness for inspections, audits, and regulatory reviews.

  • Maintain financial accountability for parts, service, and repair costs.

  • Uphold a strong safety mindset, ensuring a safe environment for patients, providers, and staff.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree (or equivalent experience) in electronic, biomedical engineering or a discipline geared toward managing maintaining and repairing clinical equipment within a healthcare environment and/or equivalent of military BMET program and/or AAMI certified
