Sodexo is seeking a Director 3- Facilities Operations for our Large Acute Care Community Hospital, located in La Mesa, CA, a hospital that provides medical and surgical care, intensive care, sub-acute and long-term care, rehabilitation and emergency services.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and manage all aspects of facilities operations, including construction, building maintenance, systems reliability, and infrastructure support.
  • Direct preventive and corrective maintenance programs to ensure equipment and facility reliability.
  • Ensures maintenance of physical structures, HVAC, mechanical, electrical systems, utility systems, and grounds are in operative and safe working condition at all times. 
  • Maintain continuous survey readiness through compliance with regulations from a number of regulatory agencies, including The Joint Commission (TJC), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), California Dept. of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI), and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
  • Will maintain regulatory readiness documentation, ensuring the system is in compliance with regulatory standards and the team is trained and ready for regulatory inspections.
  • Coordinate and execute capital improvement projects and renovations in collaboration with hospital leadership and external contractors.
  • Negotiates project and service contracts.  Manages activities concerning technical development and scheduling.  Establishes and manages budgets and productivity targets. Controls expenditures within the limitations of the project and department budgets.
  • Oversee and develop a multidisciplinary team of technicians and maintenance staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Serve as a key liaison with hospital administration to support patient care services and operational goals.
  • Maintain emergency preparedness and support hospital safety initiatives and sustainability efforts and work directly with Senior Leadership to develop and implement plans for the hospital’s facilities vision and growth.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare facilities management.
  • Strong knowledge of The Joint Commission, OSHA, NFPA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Proven experience managing capital projects and vendor relationships.
  • CHFM certification required.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team leadership skills.
