Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking a Patient Food Service Manager 2 for Clara Maass Medical Center, a 465 bed Acute Care Hospital located in Belleville, NJ.   In this role, you will direct and participate in all of the patient meal services and acting as a liaison between the food service department and the patients and supervise a team of approximately 40 people (15 daily).  The hours for this role will be mostly 11:30a-8:00p, however you will need to have the flexibility to cover the 5:30a-2:00p shift when needed, as well as rotational coverage every other weekend.  This location is a union environment.

What You'll Do

  • manage the tray-line for Sodexo's Expressly for You (EFY) patient feeding system at this location
  • daily patient meal rounds, managing the meal assembly and delivery system
  • maintain food and health & safety logs within Sodexo and hospital guidelines and requirements
  • ensure trainings remain up to date for all hourly associates, for both Sodexo and hospital related trainings
  • effectively mentor and develop the food services team
  • cultivate effective interpersonal relationships with patients and nursing staff, focusing on enhanced customer satisfaction

What You Bring

  • strong production culinary background, ideally in an up-scale restaurant/retail/catering environment;
  • experience leading and engaging a culinary and/or food services team
  • Servsafe certified as well as working knowledge of HACCP and experience with Health and Safety audits
  • prior cash handling responsibility
  • familiarity with Sodexo processes and systems (preferred, not required)
