Sodexo's Campus Segment is seeking a General Manager 4 - Food to lead dining operations at the University of Maine at Farmington (UMF). UMF is a vibrant public liberal arts college serving 1,500 undergraduate students in the scenic foothills of western Maine. As the General Manager, you will oversee all aspects of campus dining, including Resident Dining, Retail, Catering, and Summer Conferences. This highly visible role requires a dynamic leader who can balance operational excellence with creativity, financial performance, and strong client and community relationships.
You will play a key role in shaping the dining experience on campus by implementing innovative programs, supporting sustainability initiatives, and ensuring a student-focused approach that aligns with UMF’s values.
Oversee daily operations across multiple dining service lines, ensuring high-quality food and excellent customer service.
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of managers, chefs, and frontline staff to foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and growth.
Manage financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and achieving revenue and cost goals.
Build and maintain strong client relationships with UMF leadership, faculty, staff, and students.
Introduce creative dining concepts, local sourcing strategies, and sustainability practices that reflect the UMF community.
Ensure compliance with Sodexo and university policies, as well as health, safety, and regulatory standards.
Drive student engagement through active presence on campus, responsiveness to feedback, and innovative dining programs.

Proven experience leading multi-unit dining or hospitality operations, preferably in a university or campus setting.
Strong financial acumen with a record of meeting or exceeding performance targets.
Experience managing union and non-union employees, with a passion for coaching and team development.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to partner effectively with clients, staff, and students.
A creative mindset with the ability to implement new programs and enhance the customer experience.
Commitment to sustainability and community engagement.
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
