Sodexo is seeking a full-time Dietetic Technician for Colleton Medical Center located in Walterboro, SC. Colleton Medical Center is a 135-bed acute care hospital offering both inpatient and outpatient medical services. Walterboro is known for its charm and unique Lowcountry atmosphere. It's just 49 miles to Charleston, SC, 32 miles to Summerville, SC and 68 miles from Historic Savannah, GA. This positions hours are 8:00AM-4:30 PM Monday- Friday and every other Saturday or Sunday and the weekend day is flexible.  

 

This position is benefits eligible.

What You'll Do

 

 

  • Support the provision of general to specialized nutrition care for patients
  • Through collaboration and communication with the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN)
  • perform nutrition screening of patients and assess nutrition risk levels per established criteria
  • provide appropriate nutrition education
  • conduct meal rounds and tray audits
  • participate in performance improvement initiatives with the goal of increasing patient satisfaction and participate in departmental activities, meetings, committees and other nutrition related tasks

What You Bring

    • Associate in Applied Science Degree in Dietetic Technology OR Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics;
    • DTR or NDTR
    • a good knowledge base of diet and related medical nutrition therapies
    • sound nutrition education skills
    • interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a diverse population and collaborate in a team environment, and good time management skills

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement: Associate’s degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice in a Dietetic Technician Program as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) or Bachelor’s degree with completion of required coursework in a Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) as dictated by ACEND

 
Minimum Management Experience: Basic experience of coordinating the work of others (4 to 6 months)

 

Minimum Functional Experience: Limited work-based experience (0 to 3 months); ability to work with minimal supervision

 

Credentials Requirement:

  • Nutrition & Dietetics Technician, Registered (DTR/NDTR) by the  Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
  • Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice
