Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking a Food Operations Manager 2 for Mountainside Hospital located in Montclair, New Jersey. Mountainside is part of the Hackensack Meridian Health and Ardent Health System joint venture. Mountainside is 325 bed Acute Care Facility.  In this pivotal role, you’ll bring your vision, leadership, and operational expertise to motivate and develop a team of 35 union frontline professionals.  you're passionate about driving operational excellence in a fast-paced healthcare environment—and ready to make a meaningful difference—we’d love to meet you. 

 

 We provide patient services and all retail food/cafeteria.  This position is part of a team led by a General Manager and supported by the Clinical Nutrition Manager, an Executive Chef, Retail Manager, and Patient Services Operations Manager.

What You'll Do

  • coordinate all required tasks, and managing scheduling through frontline staff
  • deliver high quality food services including retail, patient meal management, and catering
  • achieve company and client financial targets and goals
  • ensure compliance with HACCP, regulatory and Sodexo standards
  • have daily interaction with fellow managers and clinical team to ensure patient satisfaction

What You Bring

  • have a work history demonstrating strong employee engagement and supervisory experience
  • bring culinary production experience (healthcare experience a +)
  • can manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of customer service
  • demonstrate working knowledge of Sodexo Food Management System (FMS) The Market Connection (TMC), Sodexo Menu Graphics (SMG), Catetrax and is proficient in computer skills and report management experience. This section does not apply to external candidates.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
