Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking a Food Operations Manager 1 for New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus, NJ.   In this role you will be responsible for the purchasing of food and supplies as well as ensuring that all systems are being followed in the food areas.The Manager will directly supervise a team of about 18 hospital employees, providing patient meals (approx. 850 per meal period) and 2 small onsite retail locations.  The hours for this role will be approximately 10:00am-6:00pm, Monday through Friday, and will will need some flexibility to provide weekend coverage 1x/month.

 

New Bridge Medical Center is a 1000 bed acute and long-term care hospital.  The hospital campus also houses a nursing home and a mental health facility.  It is a full-service hospital with a 24/7 emergency department, surgical suites, physical rehabilitation, pharmacy, laboratory, radiologic services (including digital mammography), and more than 26 medical specialties available through its Ambulatory Care Center.

What You'll Do

  • coordinate all required tasks, and managing scheduling through frontline staff
  • build out weekly menus with the Executive Chef and manage associated costs effectively
  • manage patient floor stock program
  • oversee inventory and purchasing
  • deliver high quality food services including retail, patient meals, and catering as needed
  • support the Executive Chef as the right hand person on the culinary side of operations
  • ensure compliance with HACCP, regulatory and Sodexo standards
  • have daily interaction with fellow managers and clinical team to ensure patient satisfaction

What You Bring

  • Strong inventory, purchasing financial UFS and POS reports preferred
  •  a work history with prior supervisory responsibility, demonstrating strong employee engagement 
  • culinary production experience (healthcare experience is a plus)
  • excellent computer skills - Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint and Access capabilities
  • can manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of customer service

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
