Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking an experienced Environmental Services Custodial Manager in the San Diego Area. A valid driver's license with clear background required. This role will work an evening shift. Our successful candidate will have demonstrated experience managing custodial services in a large facility, walk around the property daily and inspect sanitation and remain pro-active in keeping our buildings pristine. Technical knowledge of floor care, custodial equipment chemicals and experience managing a cohesive team with the flexibility to jump in and help hands-on as needed are required. This role will be professionally responsible for successfully managing the Custodial Services, with key interaction with high-profile, C-Suite level clients and will be a support role for the execution of service quality. 

What You'll Do

  • Be responsible for support in driving the custodial program and staff  
  • Lead teams and departmental projects and initiatives
  • Effectively manage the Unit Operating System
  • Support a diverse and inclusive workforce
  • Schedule, supervise, and inspect sanitation
  • Monitor special event preparations for flawless execution
  • Execute the pristine appearance of assigned buildings through weekly inspections
  • Take responsibility to solve concerns and sanitation issues independently and to Sodexo standards  
  • Maintain excellent customer service, with strong written and verbal communication and software skills
  • Develop staffing schedules and manage payroll and ordering supplies, manage multiple software, CMMS and Microsoft Excel applications 
  • Hire, train and develop a strong team, including safety training, use of equipment including but not limited to wet-dry vacuums, extractors, buffers, sprayers, auto scrubbers and electric carts
  • demonstrate a willingness to perform at a high level in a team environment with a desire for career advancement
  • Be available for the occasional weekend projects, checking in on the staff, running supplies to the team and providing morale boost for the team that is working the weekend project

What You Bring

Valid Driver's license with Clear Background required.

  • Experience leading, training and managing a team, and is a leader who develops and motivates a team to exceed the expectations of clients and customers in service delivery
  • Results and safety driven mindset
  • Successful experience managing COVID response
  • Demonstrated history of managing work orders in a CMMS
  • Intermediate level skills in Excel, CMMS, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience driving customer service satisfaction with C-Suite level Clients
  • Ability to monitor compliance and reach project target dates of completion
  • Strong leadership skills and has the ability to work independently to drive program
  • Experience managing our team through positive and constructive feedback to employees to reward, coach, correct and motivate them
  • Experience hiring team members, documenting timely interviews following Sodexo timeline and policy for the interview process
